About the Role

(Hourly Paid Position)

Capital City College is seeking a skilled Kitchen Porter to support key operational functions in the kitchen, ensuring high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and service integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an immaculate kitchen and dining area, adhering to strict hygiene and health & safety protocols.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, stock management, and disposter of waste ( Observing COSHH guidelines).
  • Work collaboratively with the college’s professional support teams to maintain a clean, functional, and inclusive environment.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and adaptable attitude to ensure operational excellence.

Primary Qualification:

  • Good communication skills and the ability to take clear, accurate instructions.
  • Understanding and commitment to kitchen hygiene standards and relevant safety regulations.

About You

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual with:

  • Exceptional organisational skills, capable of multitasking and maintaining accuracy under pressure.
  • Clear and professional communication—essential for collaboration with staff and interaction with college stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset, keen to learn and adapt to evolving operational needs.
  • Formal or informal experience in food handling, COSHH, or professional kitchen/paperwork processes as a significant advantage.
  • Pride in delivery—ensuring all tasks are completed with care and attention to detail.
