Kitchen Service Worker
Food Service Assistant – Colchester Institute (CO33LL)
Aramark UK is currently recruiting a Food Service Assistant to join their team at Colchester Institute.
Role Overview You will:
- Perform basic food preparation, including making sandwiches and other grab-and-go foods.
- Work front of house, operating the till and delivering excellent customer service.
Safeguarding Commitment We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles require enhanced DBS and safer recruitment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) checklist.
Working Arrangements
- Hours: 29 per week
- Pattern: Monday to Thursday (7:30am–5pm), Friday off
- Contract: Permanent, term-time only (36.4 weeks)
- Pay: £12.71/hour

Job Responsibilities Techniques to maintain service quality:
- Serve food and/or beverages to Aramark’s set standards.
- Clean related service areas, equipment, and furniture.
- Prepare service areas/points before shifts.
- Store food items and equipment correctly post-service.
- Adhere to company regulations for hygiene, appearance, and uniform.
- Support health and safety policies (compliance + promotion).

Requirements
- Customer service experience – essential
- Customer-focused teamwork – vital
- Prior catering experience (preferred but not mandatory)
