Job Ref: 654032 Location: Goodman’s Field, Tower Hamlets Salary: £37,758 (starting salary £30,387 with additional weighting in M25 and selected locations) Closing Date: 13-08-2026

About the Role

The Kitchen Shift Manager supports the kitchen manager and pub manager, ensuring the smooth running of kitchen operations. This role involves leading and motivating the team to meet sales, profit, and compliance targets, while delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Run shifts unsupervised to achieve:

    • Outstanding customer service
    • On-time food delivery with correct specifications
    • Strict adherence to Wetherspoon standard operating procedures (SOPs) and company policies, ensuring a clean, safe, and legal workspace
  • Leadership & Motivation: Support, guide, and inspire the team to maintain high standards in food quality, productivity, and compliance.

  • Financial & Commercial Responsibility:

    • Achieve daily sales and financial targets.
    • Take proactive steps to increase sales while controlling costs.
    • Work closely with the kitchen manager to:
      • Forecast sales and costs
      • Manage the profit and loss account
      • Identify and maximise sales opportunities
  • Multi-Tasking & Problem-Solving: Prioritise duties, delegate effectively, and resolve operational challenges.

  • Compliance & Standards:

    • Ensuring cleanliness, product quality, customer service, and maintenance meet company expectations.
    • Adhering to legislative requirements and company policies.
    • Managing cash handling (once trained).

  • Rotating Shifts: Work across various shifts (including front-of-house) to cover operating hours:
    • Monday–Sunday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM (overnight)
