Role Description

The Kitchen Team Member (Night Shift) is a full-time, on-site role based at the Pret A Manger shop in Woking. In this position, the team member helps prepare and assemble food items overnight, ensuring recipes are followed accurately and products are ready for the next trading day.

  • Working in the shop kitchen to prepare ingredients, make sandwiches, salads, and other menu items.
  • Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and organized.
  • Following health and safety procedures.
  • Working closely with colleagues to meet production targets and quality standards.
  • Contributing to a positive, respectful work environment.
  • Delivering consistent quality that reflects Pret’s values and customer focus.

Qualifications

  • Ability to follow food preparation instructions, recipes, and portioning guidelines accurately.
  • Understanding of basic food safety, hygiene, and health and safety practices in a kitchen environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with night shift colleagues.
  • Reliability and time management skills, including the ability to work night shifts and meet production deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality and consistency in all prepared items.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, handle kitchen equipment safely, and manage a fast-paced workload.
  • Previous experience in a kitchen, food production, or hospitality environment is beneficial but not essential.
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and grow within Pret A Manger, with a positive attitude toward customers and colleagues.
