Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse – Specialist Community Perinatal Mental Health Team
An opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse (CMHN) to join the Specialist Community Perinatal Mental Health Team (CPMHT) within NHS Grampian.
This role focuses on providing enhanced, specialist mental health care to women experiencing moderate to severe and complex mental health difficulties during pregnancy and the postnatal period. You will work as part of a supportive, experienced multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, compassionate and person-centred care.
Main Duties
As a Band 6 CMHN within the CPMHT, your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting specialist mental health assessments and contributing to formulation and care planning
- Managing a defined caseload, providing enhanced community-based interventions and ongoing review
- Assessing and managing risk in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and partner services
- Developing and reviewing individualised care plans, with women and families fully involved where possible
- Supporting infant mental health and the developing parent-infant relationship
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across health, social care and third-sector services
- Maintaining clear, accurate clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards
- Contributing to service development, audit, and quality improvement activities
