Job Title: Medical Secretary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable individual to join the Parent and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) as a Medical Secretary. This post will be based at Fern, Elmwood, Aberdeen.

About the Role

The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to clinicians within the service, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audio typing
  • Referral processing
  • Booking appointments using the patient management system
  • Managing emails and telephone enquiries
  • Handling a range of general admin tasks and responsibilities
  • Logging into the phone system daily
  • Supporting reception when required
  • Providing administration support to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), particularly during busy periods of leave

Requirements

  • Motivated and reliable individual
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
  • Ability to work autonomously but also as a confident team player
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritise daily workload to meet service demands
  • Strong organisational and computer skills
  • Confident using IT systems
  • Experience of NHS systems is highly desirable

This post is full-time permanent, worked Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm to provide cover during the PIMHS core hours.
