Medical Secretary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable individual to join the Parent and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) as a Medical Secretary. This post will be based at Fern, Elmwood, Aberdeen.
About the Role
The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support to clinicians within the service, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the service.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Audio typing
- Referral processing
- Booking appointments using the patient management system
- Managing emails
- Handling telephone enquiries
- A range of general admin tasks and responsibilities
- Logging into the phone system daily
- Supporting reception when required
Skills and Qualifications
- Motivated and reliable individual
- Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritise workload to meet service demands
- Strong organisational and computer skills
- Confidence using IT systems
- Experience of NHS systems is highly desirable (e.g., TrakCare, Dragon)
Job Details
- Full-time permanent position
- Worked Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm
- Cover during the PIMHS core hours
- Opportunity to provide administration support to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), particularly during busy periods of leave
