Opportunity for a Knowledge Development Lawyer

We have an opportunity to appoint an experienced Litigation lawyer / Knowledge lawyer to join our UK Litigation & Regulatory Knowledge team as a Knowledge Development Lawyer on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Working with the Group Head of Knowledge, the successful candidate will help deliver Knowledge objectives by:

  • Tracking and sharing updates in English litigation, Court procedure and case law, alongside AI developments impacting the legal sector.
  • Upskilling lawyers with technical training and AI education.
  • Acting as a key contact point for technical knowledge, skill and practical insight in the area of litigation.
  • Supporting thought leadership and other MBD projects.
  • Championing central Knowledge projects.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and draft update summaries on key case law, updated Civil Procedure Rules / Court process, and on developments in Class Actions.
  • Draft, develop and update guidance on Litigation and Regulatory processes for fee earners.
  • Promote the adoption and safe use of AI tools, including by co-developing use cases and integrating AI workflows into legal practice. Ensuring that the Litigation and Regulatory practice is aware of and knows how to comply with AI regulations set by courts and regulators.
  • Co-ordinate and help deliver legal technical training on Litigation and Regulatory updates, and specialist training programmes for junior lawyers.
  • Support client-facing knowledge initiatives, including client training, thought leadership and knowledge-related MBD activity on core areas.
  • Update and maintain standard litigation documents and other knowledge materials.
  • Assist lawyers with technical legal queries on litigation and civil procedure, online court filing platform queries, and on AI use cases.
  • The role also supports specialist subgroups including Corporate Crime and Investigations, Sanctions and Financial Services Disputes and Regulation.
  • Work with the professionals in our Electronic Data Management, Law & and AI teams to help develop and promote best practice in legal disputes process and use of tools and technology.

About You

  • 5 years + qualified lawyer.
  • Extensive English Law Litigation experience.
  • Must have previous knowledge role experience or knowledge experience demonstrable from prior involvement in developing knowledge resources and delivering technical training.
  • Good understanding of AI and legal innovation.
  • Excellent technical academic credentials and broad practical experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to connect, influence and collaborate.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised and able to co-ordinate and deliver projects in a timely manner.
  • A pro-active self-starter.
  • Ability to work with the Head of Knowledge, other Knowledge Development Lawyers, the Partners and MBD teams to identify and develop new client products, insights, and training.

We would be pleased to consider applications from qualified lawyers from a private practice or in-house background as well as established Professional Support/Knowledge professionals. The role can be based in any of our UK offices but with some travel to our other offices from time to time.
