Master – Kotlin Coding Specialist (AI Trainer)
Are you a Kotlin expert eager to shape the future of AI? Large-scale language models are evolving from chatbots into powerful developer assistants capable of reasoning about complex software systems. With high-quality engineering data, tomorrow’s AI can support developers in solving real-world problems faster and more accurately. That training data begins with you—your coding expertise will help power the next generation of AI.
We’re looking for Kotlin specialists who can take real-world engineering scenarios—such as bug reports or feature requests in a Git repository—and produce clean, efficient, and idiomatic solutions using the Kotlin programming language. You’ll create high-quality code patches that reflect modern Android development practices, ensuring technical correctness, maintainability, and clarity.
Key Technical Requirements
On a daily basis, you should:
- Evaluate and refine AI-generated code for Kotlin/X platforms.
- Build, test, and optimise production-grade Kotlin solutions.
- Follow modern Android architecture principles (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).
- Document best practices aligned with the Kotlin programming language.
Technical Expertise
Required:
- Proficient in Kotlin (advanced features, functional programming paradigms).
- Hands-on experience with:
- Jetpack Compose
- Kotlin Coroutines
- Jetpack libraries: Room, WorkManager, Datastore, ViewModel, Hilt (Dependency Injection).
- Kotlin’s test framework(s) and build.gradle configurations.
- Solving concurrency problems and optimising performance.
- Strong command of dependency management (Maven, Gradle) with Kotlin DSL.
- Familiarity with modern networking libraries: Retrofit, OkHttp, Coil.
- API design and REST integration experience.

Preferred (but not mandatory):
- Experience with Android multimedia tooling, including CameraX, ExoPlayer, Google Media3.
- Background in unit testing with Kotlin Test (KT), Mockito, or similar.
About the Role
Basic Responsibilities
- Transform raw engineering problems into clean, idiomatic Kotlin solutions.
- Assess the quality and correctness of AI-generated code, correcting errors where needed.
- Constantly align your solutions with best practices for Kotlin and Android development.
- Collaborate with the AI training team to improve model accuracy.
Hard Requirements
- Have 4+ years of experience building Android applications.
- Worked on production systems with large code bases.
- Demonstrable expertise with Jetpack Compose or ViewBinding frameworks.
- Experience with memory management/consolidation as it applies to Kotlin and Android.

Soft Requirements
- Ability to informally explain technical decisions and best practices in writing and conversation.
- Aptitude for critical engagement with code review feedback.
What You’ll Need

- Android Studio Flavour & GPU support configurations (if applicable).
- Methodologies & Context:
- Writing maintainable, readable, and performant code.
- Strong performance awareness.
- Scientific rigor applied to AI data curation.
Pay Range & Contract
- Compensation: $35+ per hour. Exact rate will reflect experience, expertise, and location.
- Pay range is subject to change based on those factors. No base salary.
- Type of employment: Independent Contractor.
- Workplace: Remote.
