Kotlin Developer - New Platform - Up to £650 a day (Inside IR35)
Our financial services client is building a brand-new engineering team and is looking for a talented Software Engineer to help shape the next generation of their platform.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern engineering environment focused on Kotlin, Java, SQL and JavaScript, developing scalable microservices and APIs that power business-critical applications. You'll work with the latest technologies, influence technical direction, and collaborate with a highly skilled team delivering innovative products from the ground up.

What You'll Be Doing
- Develop high-quality backend applications using Java and Kotlin
- Design and build scalable APIs and microservices
- Collaborate with engineers, testers and product stakeholders to deliver new platform capabilities
- Contribute to architecture, proof-of-concepts and technical decision-making
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD delivery pipelines
- Help build a modern, high-performing engineering culture within a growing team
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience with Java & Kotlin
- Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices
- Solid SQL knowledge and experience working with modern backend systems
- Exposure to JavaScript and modern development practices is beneficial
- Experience using Git, GitHub, Bitbucket or similar version control tools
- Passion for clean code, collaboration and building scalable software
