Kotlin/JVM Software Junior Engineer
Shape the Future of Digital Insurance
Wipro is seeking a motivated and collaborative Software Engineer to join a growing team responsible for building and enhancing modern digital insurance platforms. Our solutions support the creation, servicing, and management of insurance products and claims, delivering seamless customer experiences through scalable, cloud-native technology.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a modern technology stack including Kotlin, Java, React, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Docker and Kubernetes, contributing to both greenfield development and the evolution of existing platforms. You'll work closely with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while embracing modern development practices, automation, and AI-assisted engineering.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions from concept through to production.
- Deliver end-to-end features across backend services and APIs.
- Work on a combination of new platform development and enhancements to existing applications.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and Engineers to define and deliver business functionality.
- Participate in solution design, architecture discussions, and code reviews.
- Contribute to engineering best practices, software quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build reliable, secure, and maintainable applications using modern cloud-native technologies.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and delivery outcomes.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Kotlin, or JVM technologies.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
- Experience working with production systems and live applications.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

- Full-stack development experience with React or modern front-end frameworks.

- Familiarity with software testing tools and automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of modern web and API architectures.

Please note this role will be a Fixed Term Contract
