KS1 Teaching Assistant – Southcote Primary School
Part Time Permanent Term Time Only Location: Reading Closing Date: 19 July 2026 £17,847 Per Year
Start Date: September 2026 – 30.5 Hours per week – 8.30am to 3.20pm (Monday to Friday), Term time only – Permanent

The Role: KS1 Teaching Assistant
We urgently require an energetic, self-motivated individual to support our Key Stage 1 (KS1) pupils. You’ll join a welcoming, collaborative team and work closely with students who need extra guidance and encouragement.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Excel in supporting young children’s academic and personal development.
- Display excellent interpersonal skills when communicating with colleagues, teams, and parents.
- Bring hands-on experience in engaging with young children, especially those who face behavioural challenges or require additional support.
- Maintain a strong command of spoken and written English for clear communication.
- Engage in accredited training to enhance skills and qualifications.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven track record of working with young children, particularly in managing behavioural support needs.
- Strong education or care experience is advantageous.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
