At Severn Trent, we're passionate about creating opportunities that help people thrive. As our L&D Consultant – Employability and Social Mobility, you'll play a key role in delivering our social impact strategy by designing and delivering innovative employability programmes that support people from a wide range of backgrounds to build confidence, develop workplace skills and unlock their potential.

Working as part of the Severn Trent Academy, you'll lead the development of engaging learning experiences that improve employment outcomes for individuals who may face barriers to entering or progressing in the workplace. You'll work closely with community partners, facilitators, managers, mentors and volunteers to create meaningful learning opportunities that have a lasting impact on individuals, communities and our business.

This is a rewarding role for a passionate learning professional who enjoys building relationships, creating engaging learning solutions and making a genuine difference to people's lives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Design and deliver employability and work-readiness programmes for diverse audiences.
  • Create inclusive and engaging learning environments that support learner success.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality learning materials, facilitator guides and digital resources.
  • Coordinate programme delivery, ensuring facilitators, venues and resources are in place.
  • Equip managers, mentors and volunteers with the tools and confidence to support participants effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with community organisations, charities and employability partners.
  • Use feedback, data and industry insight to continually improve programmes and learning experiences.
  • Act as a trusted expert on employability, social mobility and learning best practice.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a passionate learning professional with experience designing and delivering impactful development programmes. You'll have:

  • Knowledge of employability, social mobility and barriers to work.
  • Experience in learning design, facilitation and evaluation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and facilitation abilities.
  • Experience creating engaging learning resources and content.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong organisational and project planning skills.
