L2 Application Support Analyst
Location: Canary Wharf, East London
Salary: £55,000–£65,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Role Summary
As an L2 Application Support Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our critical financial applications, focusing on Trade Capture, Payments, Risk Management, and Batch Monitoring. You will provide advanced technical support, resolve complex issues, and work collaboratively to ensure system reliability and compliance. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a passion for financial technology and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for issues in financial systems, including Murex, Summit, SWIFT, AccessPay, Fusion Risk, and ActivePivot.
- Resolve escalated L1 support tickets, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Monitor and optimize batch processes using Control-M and Autosys, proactively addressing failures and improving efficiency.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (e.g., SQL, Python, or Bash) to streamline support processes.
- Collaborate with vendors, developers, and L3 teams to implement system fixes, upgrades, and patches.
- Ensure all support activities comply with financial regulations (e.g., MiFID II, Basel III).
- Document technical resolutions, system configurations, and processes to build a robust knowledge base.
- Support L1 analysts through mentoring and knowledge-sharing to enhance team capability.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Experience: 3–5 years in application support, preferably in financial services, with exposure to Trade Capture, Payments, Risk Management, or Batch Monitoring.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: Murex, Summit, SWIFT, AccessPay, Fusion Risk, or ActivePivot. Proficiency in batch scheduling tools (Control-M or Autosys).
- Analytical Skills: Strong SQL skills for querying databases, analyzing logs, and resolving data issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors.
- Eligibility: Right to work in the UK.

- Knowledge of financial workflows in Trade Capture, Payments, or Risk Management.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.

- Experience in vendor management or supporting cloud-based financial systems.
