PWP Building Services Limited is seeking a motivated Accounts Apprentice to join our Finance team
This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in finance while undertaking the Finance/Accounts Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship. You will work towards an AAT qualification, developing the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in finance.
Wage
- £15,600 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

- Opening Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- 37 hours 30 minutes a week

What you'll do at work
Key Responsibilities
The Accounts Apprentice will receive training and support in the following areas:
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining the Purchase Ledger.
- Matching purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries.
- Supporting Credit Control activities, including contacting customers regarding outstanding invoices and maintaining accurate customer account records.
- Posting and journaling entries under supervision.
- Providing general administrative support to the Finance team.
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company financial procedures.
- Undertaking any other reasonable duties required to support the Finance department.

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
