L3 SOC Analyst | £500 per day | Outside IR35 | Hybrid - London | 6 Month Contract
I'm currently working with a leading Financial Services organisation who are looking to appoint an experienced L3 SOC Analyst to join their Cyber Security team on an initial 6-month contract, paying £500 per day Outside IR35.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a mature Security Operations function where you'll act as the technical escalation point for complex security incidents while driving improvements across detection engineering and threat monitoring capabilities.
The role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a requirement to attend the client's London office each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical escalation point for high-priority security incidents and investigations.
- Lead the triage, investigation and response to complex cyber security incidents.
- Develop, maintain and optimise detection rules and use cases within Google Chronicle SIEM.
- Tune security alerts to reduce false positives and improve detection effectiveness.
- Manage and administer key cyber security technologies across the SOC estate.
- Support continuous improvements to monitoring, threat detection and incident response processes.
- Work closely with wider security and infrastructure teams to strengthen the organisation's cyber defence capability.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
