We pride ourselves on the support we give our apprentices, you won’t be left on your own to figure things out, we will support you throughout your apprenticeship journey together with your employer! About the Employer: Daconi are a systems integrator that leverage wireless technology to provide real time control systems for demanding applications and stand alone solutions from indoor WiFi to outdoor symmetrical Multi-Gigabit point-to-point links. Daconi provide cost effective solutions to educational, enterprise, industrial and agricultural sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Networking team at Daconi. As an apprentice you’ll gain hands-on experience of advanced surveying tools while working alongside experienced engineers and studying towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will be working on all aspects of networking including WiFi, VOIP, CCTV and switching covering: • support of customer deployments – mainly office based using remote access to troubleshoot issues, monitor performance and manage change requests, documenting changes • surveying new opportunities – at the end customer site using advanced tools to gather customer requirements and drafting proposed solutions • installation – involves configuration of equipment in the office prior to installation at the customers site. Installation includes: ◦ preparation for an installation: checking materials and tools are ready and correct for the install, loading vehicles ◦ complying with site health and safety requirements, handling tools and materials, using of ladders and MEWP’s, ◦ installing: data cabling, terminating & testing, equipment and verifying correct operational, ◦ post installation: performing post installation surveys, checking tools and test equipment are correct before leaving site, loading vehicles, recycling waste materials, documenting the installation, What you will be doing: Do you want to use your passion for technology in a business environment to support service users with technical IT related issues, integrating digital technologies and developing digital solutions? This could involve email, telephone or face to face support on infrastructure, network principles, systems and architecture, mobility, device and cloud fundamentals. The apprentice will also have the opportunity to engage with a range of media and software, both on a development and operational level. The training you'll be provided with: Comprehensive digital introductory modules including techncial concepts and personal/ professional development Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship standard e-learning training materials Specialist CompTIA vendor qualifications Virtual classroom training on the CompTIA vendor qualifications Access to uCertify training platform; core learning materials, assessments, and practical hands-on-labs Monthly assessor visits and competency checks 9 am – 5 pm Support desk for technical support You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other! As one of our apprentices you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support. Desired Skills: Must have GCSE pass grades or equivalent in English and Math Must have IT specific qualification at either A-level or Level 3 Apprenticeship in Science, Design & Tech, Computer Science, or other relevant qualifications Good communication skills Must have relevant experience in an IT and/or networking related role Must have experience in a technical support environment Good practical skills, e.g. able to use power tools, ladders, etc. Full and valid UK driving licence Roadworthy car with valid insurance allowing you to travel on business work Technical knowledge of: WAN and LAN networking technologies Fault finding and technical troubleshooting Networking infrastructure- switching, routing and firewall Working Week: Full – Time, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £21,000 per annum negotiable dependent on experience, 28 days holidays including bank holidays. Expected Duration: 18 Months with 4 months End Point Assessment. On passing your Primary Goal apprenticeship, you will gain professional recognition for the Register of IT Technician (RITTech). We also offer a progressive step in some cases, onto our Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship programme.
