An innovative biotech start-up working in the field of Synthetic and Molecular Biology is looking for a Lab Operations and Business Support Manager to join and support the team. As an early-stage company, we are building a high-performing team that thrives on innovation, collaboration and solving complex scientific challenges.
We're looking for a highly organised, proactive and adaptable Laboratory Operations & Business Support Manager to help establish and oversee the operational organisation of the business and provide support to the CEO in the development and growth of the organisation.
The Role
This is a broad, hands-on position responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our laboratories and business functions.

As one of the first operational hires, you'll have significant autonomy and the opportunity to build systems, processes and best practices that will grow with the company.
The Person
- Degree or equivalent experience in Life Sciences, Business Operations or a related discipline.
- Previous experience supporting laboratory operations in a biotechnology or life sciences environment, preferably within a start-up environment.
- Experience managing procurement and supplier relationships.
- Knowledge of laboratory health & safety and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong administrative capability with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based business tools.
- Familiarity with grant-funded research environments.
- Experience supporting HR onboarding and office management.
- Familiarity with grant-funded research environments.
