Lab Technician – Optics Position Location: Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists, Winchester

About the Role

Are you a proactive, customer-focused individual with a passion for retail? If you thrive in optics and love delivering outstanding service, this role could be a perfect fit.

As a Lab Technician, you’ll work with advanced computer-controlled equipment to maintain high precision standards for customer satisfaction. Using your existing Optical Lab knowledge, you’ll prepare spectacle orders, ensuring exceptional results.


About Our Store

Based at Specsavers Opticians and Audiologists Winchester, you’ll be part of a welcoming eye care and audiology centre. Our services include:

  • Eye examinations
  • Contact lens fittings
  • OCT scans
  • Children’s eye care
  • Hearing tests
  • Hearing aid support

Salary & Hours

  • £8.20 – £12.91 per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Saturdays: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

The Role: Key Responsibilities

  • Read lens and specification details from prescriptions
  • Use blocking and glazing machines to trim lenses to shape
  • Assemble lenses into frames
  • Apply tinting (UV protection & custom colours) to lenses
  • Ensure attention to detail throughout the process
  • Manage frame and lens ordering
  • Conduct quality checks on completed glasses
  • Maintain machine cleanliness and functionality

Experience Required: Proven experience in an Optical Lab.
