At Bureau Veritas, we're seeking a motivated Lab Technician / Chemist to join our busy and growing laboratory team in Witham. Whether you're an experienced laboratory professional or a science graduate looking to take the next step, this is your chance to develop your skills in a fast-paced commercial environment with a global leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our laboratory team, you'll:

  • Perform routine testing and analysis of samples for elemental content using classical and instrumental techniques.
  • Work to ISO 17025 standards, ensuring high levels of accuracy and quality.
  • Support the delivery of key laboratory performance targets and customer deadlines.
  • Follow laboratory SOPs and maintain robust quality procedures.
  • Champion safe working practices in line with HSE, COSHH and risk assessments.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives that drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:

  • A-Level qualifications (or equivalent experience), ideally in a scientific discipline.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate results.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Previous laboratory experience is beneficial but not essential. We are keen to hear from science graduates, laboratory assistants, technicians, and aspiring chemists looking to grow their careers.
