Laboratory Support Coordinator

Field Service Representative - Core Skill - Applications (12 Month Contract)

Location: Devon area

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist or Application Support Specialist to join the team as a Laboratory Support Coordinator. This challenging role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care through high-quality support of hospital pathology services.

Key Information

  • Supporting NHS Region South 1, covering 3 hospitals across Devon
  • Ideal for experienced Biomedical Scientists or Application Support Scientists
  • Primary focus on supporting customers post-installation, troubleshooting investigations, and customer training, with additional responsibilities in engineering, IT support, and training
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Devon area

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline customer support across various analytical systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Minimise unplanned downtime of laboratory equipment
  • Deliver applications and IT support
  • Conduct training for laboratory staff

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree (B.Sc.) in Biomedical Science or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Thorough, up-to-date understanding of the IVD industry
  • Solid experience in implementing best-in-class support from a hospital laboratory or a similar diagnostics solution provider
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Resilient and tenacious, able to thrive under pressure
  • Growth mindset with ability to use agile techniques

Additional Information

  • The role covers sites within the Devon area. There may be a requirement for off-territory support with travel within the South region primarily, with some UK cover and also travel to Burgess Hill.
  • The successful candidate should be prepared to stay away from home in hotels when required, although this will not be routine.
