Job Summary
Be a key part of the team that keeps our laboratory running smoothly and efficiently. As a Laboratory Support Technician, you’ll provide essential hands-on and administrative support within our Quality Control lab environment. This is a practical, varied role suited to someone reliable, organised, and happy working as part of a steady, collaborative team. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build a stable role in a laboratory setting while supporting day-to-day operations.
What You’ll Do
- Collect and process routine production and stability samples
- Prepare laboratory areas and equipment for testing activities
- Carry out basic testing and system suitability checks
- Support calibration activities and assist with maintaining schedules
- Provide assistance with validation activities across the lab
- Receive samples and accurately input results into LIMS systems
- Maintain stock levels, complete stock checks, and order supplies as needed
- Create and update spreadsheets and carry out general data entry tasks
- Archive laboratory records, procedures, and documentation in line with requirements
- Support the upkeep and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Assist with planning and coordinating sample collection schedules
- Help organise archiving, calibration, and documentation activities
- Take meeting minutes and support general administrative tasks
- Liaise with on-site contractors and assist with service contract coordination
- Ensure correct disposal of samples at the end of their lifecycle
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and report any risks or concerns
- Provide general support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the laboratory

Qualifications and Need-to-Know
- GCSEs in English, Maths, and a Science subject (grades 9–4), or equivalent experience
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow written instructions and work in a structured, methodical way
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
