Lockerbie DG11
Rotating shift pattern (days only)

Are you passionate about quality, science and ensuring that every product meets the highest standards? Do you enjoy working in a laboratory environment where your attention to detail and analytical skills make a real difference every day?

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our team at Arla Foods Lockerbie on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced dairy manufacturing environment, supporting product quality and food safety through accurate testing, analysis and reporting.

As part of our laboratory team, you’ll play a vital role in helping us deliver safe, high-quality dairy products to our customers while working alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive and collaborative environment.

How you will make an impact

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out laboratory testing and analysis to ensure products and materials meet the required quality standards. You’ll work closely with production and quality teams, providing accurate results and helping to identify and escalate any issues that could impact product quality.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Conducting laboratory tests and analyses on products and materials in accordance with defined procedures.
  • Interpreting test results and escalating any non-conformance issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicating and reporting laboratory results to relevant departments across the site.
  • Ensuring company standards, laboratory methods and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring instrumentation is calibrated and verified before use.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
