About the Role
Insmed Cambridge are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Technician to join our mission. You will support scientists exploring the biology of rare diseases and identifying potential targets for treatments, ultimately impacting, and transforming the lives of many patients. This role is suited for candidates with a passion for lab operations as their primary focus, for us this means managing consumables and waste streams, shipping, risk assessments, COSHH, preparing tissue culture media in addition to promoting and supporting HSE, sustainability and innovation in the lab.
What You'll Do
Reporting to our Biology Laboratory Manager, we're looking for a reliable, positive, and adaptable team player who thrives in a fast-paced biotech environment.
Laboratory Excellence
- Support our cutting-edge biology laboratories and tissue culture facilities
- Prepare tissue culture media and reagents using Good Laboratory Practice sterile techniques
- Maintain consumables inventory and manage waste streams efficiently
- Operate specialized equipment including autoclaves, glass wash machines, and dispensers
Operational Support
- Ensure seamless laboratory housekeeping and maintain the highest cleanliness standards
- Manage deliveries and maintain optimal supply levels
- Support Health & Safety, sustainability, and innovation initiatives
- Provide resilience coverage during high-demand periods
Who You Are
- Hands-on laboratory experience with media preparation, aliquoting, and aseptic techniques
- Strong attention to detail, experience following SOPs and excellent IT skills
- A positive proactive approach to work
- Bachelor's degree in biology would be preferred or a demonstrable passion for science coupled with lab operations experience gained in industry

This is a site based role so the successful applicant will need to be based onsite at Babraham Research Campus. We cannot offer visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
