Laboratory Technician
Laboratory Technician – Truro, Cornwall
Our currently active role within mineral processing test work at Alfred H. Knight offers the opportunity to deliver projects at a high standard, ensuring rigorous quality control and adherence to standard operating procedures.
The role enfolds performing metallurgical and analytical testing, meticulous record-keeping of results, and effective collaboration with technicians, project managers, the wider team, and external operators. Health and Safety compliance is mandatory, encompassing the handling of hazardous materials and maintaining a clean, secure work environment.
Central responsibilities include:
- Sample logistics, waste disposal, and inventory management to optimise laboratory efficiency
- Equipment maintenance—calibration, savings adjustments, and repair to uphold technical standards
- Strict adherence to quality control protocols including filtering systems, blast centrifuge balance checks, particle size analysis, and powder mix screens
