Laboratory Technician

Location: Ealing, Greater London

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time (Term Time: 8:15am – 4:15pm + 5 days)

Salary:

  • Permanent: £30,291 – £35,000 p/a
  • Pro Rata Equivalent: £24,696 – £28,536 p/a

Start Date: 1st September 2026


About the Role

Notting Hill & Ealing High School (NHEHS), a leading independent girls' day school within the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support our vibrant Science Department.

This position is pivotal within a busy yet highly resourced team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality practical science education across all key stages. You will:

  • Prepare and oversee practical work in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring safe and efficient experimentation.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff to facilitate innovative and engaging science lessons.
  • Suggest new practical activities, maintaining an up-to-date curriculum.
  • Manage departmental inventory and equipment to guarantee full operational readiness.

Ideal candidates will possess experience in a laboratory setting and have studied science to A Level standard. Strong organisation, IT skills, and hands-on technical ability are essential.
