Are you a hardworking, reliable individual with a hands-on approach and a strong work ethic? Jarvie Plant is looking for a Labourer to support our yard operations, ensuring our equipment and facilities are maintained to a high standard and ready for hire.
How This Role Supports The Delivery Of Hire Solutions
As a Labourer, you will play an important role in supporting the efficient operation of our yard. You will help ensure plant equipment is clean, prepared, and ready for hire, while maintaining a safe and organised working environment. Your contribution will directly support the smooth running of our hire operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Ensure safety compliance at all times, following company policies and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard, ensuring it is safe, tidy, and well-presented.
- Wash and clean all plant machinery and accommodation units where required.
- Clean lorries and field service vans when necessary.
- Prepare machines for hire, including carrying out internal cleaning, fuelling, and basic checks.
- Complete picking lists by selecting and allocating stock items.
- Check off hired machines on return, including inspecting for damage, recording fuel levels and meter readings, and completing required paperwork.
- Assist with basic handyman repairs and general site maintenance as required.
- Ensure bins are emptied and waste is managed appropriately.
- Collaborate with plant fitters, apprentices, drivers, and customers to maintain a positive and productive working environment.

- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Previous experience in a plant or similar environment (desirable but not essential).
- Awareness of health and safety practices within the workplace.
- Ability to carry out manual tasks and work outdoors in varying conditions.
- A valid UK driving licence (essential)
