We are currently seeking a Lairage Operative to safeguard the livestock. The person will be part of the Lairage team reporting to the Abattoir Manager.
Responsibilities
- Safeguard the wellbeing of livestock
- Move livestock to secure holding pens causing minimal stress
- Keep the abattoir serviced with livestock
- Keep the lairage facilities clean and tidy
- Adhere to Company hygiene practices & animal welfare procedures
- Comply with health & safety rules, to prevent / minimise the risk of accidents
- Participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan
- Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but full training will be given for inexperienced people keen to learn the trade:
- Good attention to detail
- Able to use own initiative
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated
- Able to work as part of a team
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Experience with livestock, desirable but not a requirement.

£12.71 p/h
Shift
Monday – Friday
6:30am - 3:10pm
