# Lairage Operative – Llanybydder

Are you passionate about supporting local communities and delivering high-quality, sustainable food? We are one of Europe’s leading food processing companies, and we’re looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to join our dynamic team in Llanybydder!
We are recruiting for a Lairage Operative to work in our existing Llanybydder team. The role involves ensuring the safe, efficient human handing of livestock within the lairage area prior to processing, maintaining high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and health and safety.
Shift Availability:
- Day Shift
- Back Shift (1300-2200)
Responsibilities
Your main duties will include ensuring adherence to welfare regulations and upholding operational excellence while maintaining a team-focused approach.
- Receiving and unloading livestock on arrival, strictly following welfare regulations
- Ensuring livestock numbers are accurate and logged
- Completing all required paperwork promptly
- Monitoring livestock for welfare concerns and taking immediate action if issues arise
- Segregating animals as necessary under SOPs
- Guiding animals between pens using safe, humane handling techniques
- Maintaining accurate identification and traceability
- Strictly adhering to departmental SOPs and national standards
- Supporting the team to meet department goals and targets
- Ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications
- Promoting and upholding excellent health, safety, and hygiene standards
