In the UK, Guardian is continually looking for talented individuals to help them continue their growth and presence in the regional market. All UK manufacturing is based from the plant in Goole, East Yorkshire which has recently made significant investment in a new furnace which uses advanced technology and will secure glass manufacture at the site for the next 20 years. The plant can produce some of the most advanced and innovative energy saving architectural glass on the market today. The plant is a lower tier COMAH site which operates a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Our Team
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operator role in the Goole Glass Manufacturing Plant. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our Laminating Team. Reporting into the Lami Shift Manager you will be part of a Multifunctional team operating the Lamination process.
What You Will Do
- Safely operate production and mobile plant equipment.
- Ensure quality compliance against defined product specifications.
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Communicate effectively with leaders and peers.
- Carry out routine operator asset care inspections, cleaning and basic maintenance activities.
- Identify, troubleshoot and report abnormal equipment conditions before failures occur
- Support maintenance teams with planned maintenance and basic corrective actions within training and competency limits.
- Take ownership of equipment performance within your operating area and actively contribute to improving reliability.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Flexible, positive and contribution motivated attitude.
- Comfortable using production systems and digital tools.
- Demonstrates ability to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
- Ability to drive change and improve the way work is performed.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
- Demonstrates practical problem solving skills.
- Ability to recognise equipment abnormalities and take appropriate action.
- Able to perform basic mechanical tasks following procedures and training.
- Strong sense of equipment ownership and workplace organisation.
- Committed to working safely in a manufacturing environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience performing operator asset care, or autonomous maintenance activities.
- Manufacturing or process industrial experience.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance.
- Experience identifying defects and implementing corrective actions.
- Control room experience.
- Quality control experience.
- FLT or crane operation experience.

- Starting salary is £33,137 +20% shift premium.
