Laminator – Full-Time Role (On-Site in Pontypool Area)

About the Role

The Laminator is a full-time, on-site position responsible for operating laminating machinery to apply protective films and finishes to printed sheets and packaging components, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate lamination machinery: Apply finishes to produced materials.
  • Setup and adjustment: Configure lamination equipment for different projects.
  • Production monitoring: Oversee runs, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Quality checks: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of laminated products.
  • Safety compliance: Handle materials, equipment, and processes safely.
  • Basic maintenance: Perform minor machine adjustments and troubleshooting.
  • Record-keeping: Maintain accurate production logs of materials, runs, and outputs.
  • Cross-team collaboration: Work with print, finishing, and packing teams to meet deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement: Assist in optimising production efficiency and quality standards.

Requirements

Experience & Practical Skills

  • Previous experience with laminating, printing, or finishing machinery in manufacturing or packaging.
  • Hands-on ability to set up equipment, troubleshoot minor issues, and follow technical instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly for quality assurance.
  • Measurement and numeracy skills (e.g., batch tracking, dimensional checks).
