Land Ceptor Physical Product Development Engineer

Bristol

Salary: Circa £46,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Reporting to Head of Equipment; Product Line (Land Ceptor) you will undertake a mix of activities in support of developing the Land Ceptor Physical Product, to take the existing physical design solution and determine how best to evolve it to meet existing and future customers' requirements in the medium (2-4 years) and long term. Typical activities will include:

Determine future customer requirements Develop architectural concepts to change the existing product to meet future requirements. Development of system and sub-system level interfaces, Interface Control Documents and SI diagrams. Liaise with sub-system RMOs to help develop sub-system requirements to meet future requirements. Support to early phase concept & Preliminary Design Reviews. Support to bids for future Land Ceptor based contracts Maintain awareness of future MRAD requirements with existing and new customers Support to Future Business meetings

This role offers growth potential as UK and export requirements come to fruition and the team continues to grow.

What we're looking for from you:

A highly motivated self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team. Organised and methodical in approach. Able to form strong working relationships across a wide number of stakeholders. Able to work across a number of programmes at differing stages of Product Life Cycle, from Concepts to In-service. Ability to develop concepts across a range of technologies, covering mechanical and electrical.

Ideally you will have experience in:

Developing Physical Architectures and concept designs to meet challenging customer requirements, including interpretation of requirements and allocation of functionality to systems and equipment. Challenging the existing design and manufacturing assumptions. Military domain, ideally Land systems, heavy duty machinery or Weapon Systems. Equipment roadmaps and readiness level assessments. Working with internal and external supply chains Supplier-down selection processes Product lifecycle processes
