Land Manager

Penrith

Cognisant Search are working with a national housebuilder focused on delivering affordable, high-quality homes in regenerating communities. They are currently recruiting for a Land Manager to support the Land Director securing new land opportunities and meeting the region’s future growth requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and secure land for short to medium-term development through networks, leads, tenders, and off-market opportunities, using local and competitor knowledge.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, and promoters to stay informed on market trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage detailed land information packs to support land bids, including key data such as sales packs, demographics and pricing.
  • Oversee new land acquisitions through to legal completion, coordinating between Group and Regional teams to ensure efficient delivery and strong collaboration.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in land acquisition, negotiation, and management.
  • Knowledge of legal and planning processes related to land buying and development.
  • Good awareness of planning policies, systems, and legal models for land transactions.
  • Experience managing planning applications, negotiating Section 106 agreements, and understanding affordable housing requirements.
