The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in helping to provide assurance that our homes are safe and compliant for residents.
As a Landlord Safety Assurance Officer, you will provide expert advice and carry out inspections and checks to make sure our safety systems meet legal standards and reflect best practice. Working closely with contractors, colleagues, and external partners to monitor compliance, investigate incidents, and drive continuous improvement, helping us deliver safe and secure homes for everyone.
The role can be based at any of our offices in the South (Cardiff), North (Ewloe) or West (Newcastle Emlyn) regions. We offer flexibility in choosing the most suitable base location, while still ensuring strong links with the wider Landlord Safety Team. Regular travel between offices may be required at times, but your main working location can be aligned to the area that works best for you.
What will you be doing?
- This role focuses on making sure our homes and services meet landlord health and safety standards. It involves reviewing policies, inspecting properties, and checking reports to confirm compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- You will be involved in identifying risks, supporting investigations, and recommending improvements to keep residents safe.
- Expect to work closely with teams across the organisation, offering practical advice and helping improve how safety systems operate.
- The role also includes reviewing contractor competence, analysing performance data, and responding to safety-related enquiries.
- Collaborative work with internal and external partners will be part of your day-to-day activity and briefings and training sessions may also be required to be delivered on occasion.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
