Large Leisure General Manager

General Manager (Standout Leisure Venue) – Brighton

Location: Brighton (MUST LIVE IN OR AROUND BRIGHTON) Salary: £90,000 – £95,000 + bonus

A forward-thinking leisure and attractions business with four UK-wide sites seeks an entrepreneurial General Manager to take full ownership of one of their flagship venues. This opportunity is ideal for a self-driven leader who thrives in operating like-owner mode, driving growth, shaping success, and aligning performance with broader group expansion.


About the Role

The General Manager will take full operational and financial responsibility for:

  • Finance & Operations:

    • Full P&L accountability and strategic leadership
    • Revenue optimisation across:
      • Ticketing
      • Events
      • Private hire
      • F&B (food and beverage)
      • Group bookings
  • Team & Development:

    • Leading, mentoring, and growing a large multi-departmental team
    • Recruitment, training, and talent development
  • Sales & Revenue Growth:

    • Sales, marketing, and operational strategy across the venue
    • New business development and revenue management
    • Benchmarking, target setting, and regular performance reviews

  • Strategy & External Alignment:
    • Collaborating with senior stakeholders on long-term site strategy
    • Ensuring an exceptional guest experience across all touchpoints

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive financial performance, revenue targets, and operational excellence
  • Develop and implement commercial, sales, marketing, and operational processes
  • Foster strong leadership and maintain high morale, empathy, and resilience
  • Continuous performance evaluation and regular stakeholder reporting

Required Skills & Experience

Ideal candidates will have:

✔ Proven track record as a General Manager or in a senior operational role within:

  • Visitor attractions
  • Leisure
  • Hospitality
  • Entertainment

✔ Multi-entry, high-footfall venue experience with diverse revenue streams ✔ Entrepreneurial mindset—treating the business as their own ✔ Strong commercial acumen, including interpreting financial reports (P&L, forecasts, cost control) ✔ Sales and revenue management expertise with a proven track record ✔ Experience in recruitment, team training, and development ✔ Confident communicator and natural leader ✔ Bonus: Experience opening or growing a new site
