Large Loss Solicitor
Large Loss Solicitor – Liverpool – Up to £55,000
A highly regarded national law firm is seeking a Large Loss Solicitor to join its specialist defendant personal injury team based in Liverpool.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Large Loss Solicitor to work alongside experienced lawyers on complex, high-value, and catastrophic injury claims, while managing their own caseload. The team acts for leading insurers and corporate clients on a broad range of large-loss matters involving serious and life-changing injuries.
Based in Liverpool, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse caseload including motor, employer’s liability (EL), public liability (PL), and product liability claims, involving cases such as brain injuries, spinal injuries, amputations, and fatal accident claims.
The Role:
- Manage a caseload of high-value defendant personal injury claims across motor, employer’s liability, and public liability
- Assist senior lawyers on complex and catastrophic injury litigation
- Carry out liability investigations and prepare reports with detailed litigation strategies
- Review evidence and medical records to assess liability and quantum
- Liaise with clients, insurers, witnesses, experts, and other third parties throughout the litigation process
- Instruct and manage medical and technical experts where required
- Prepare correspondence, legal documentation, reports, and reserve recommendations
- Attend court hearings, conferences, settlement meetings, and client meetings where appropriate
- Ensure compliance with the Civil Procedure Rules, rehabilitation protocols, and client requirements
- Support and mentor junior members of the team

About You:
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 2+ years’ post-qualified experience (PQE)
- Experience in defendant personal injury litigation
- Ideally, previous experience handling motor and/or EL/PL claims
- Previous experience with high-value or catastrophic injury claims is advantageous but not essential
- Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to litigation
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- High attention to detail, a proactive and collaborative approach
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider team
