About the role

At Tesco, our Property team plays a vital role in helping us serve customers and communities across the UK. As an Acquisition Manager within our Large Stores team, you'll be responsible for identifying and securing new store opportunities that support our long-term growth ambitions.

You'll deliver a strong pipeline of development opportunities, ensuring the right store format is acquired in the right location to support our strategic objectives. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you'll lead the acquisition process from site identification through to business approval, planning and delivery.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape Tesco's future store estate while making a real difference to the communities we serve.

You will be responsible for

  • Developing and maintaining a strong pipeline of large store acquisition opportunities across your region.
  • Identifying, appraising and negotiating new site acquisitions, working collaboratively with internal property, planning and development teams to deliver the best possible outcomes.
  • Monitoring local market conditions, retail trends and competitor activity, providing regular market intelligence and recommendations.
  • Recording and reporting the progress of acquisition opportunities, providing clear updates on pipeline activity and performance.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, agents, developers, consultants and key external stakeholders.
  • Progressing business cases for new acquisitions, balancing quality, value and strategic fit while delivering against key business objectives.
  • Leading planning applications for approved sites, ensuring effective management of public relations and community engagement.
  • Negotiating commercially robust and flexible agreements that minimise business risk while delivering sites on time and within budget.
  • Managing budgets effectively and ensuring capital is invested responsibly and efficiently.
  • Developing and supporting a high-performing culture, helping colleagues reach their full potential.
  • Championing Health & Safety, promoting best practice and contributing to a positive safety culture across the team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
