Laundry Assistant
Laundry Assistant 8 hrs pw | Monday | 08:00 > 16:00 £12.71 per hour
Summary of Duties To organise and provide laundry cleaning services within in accordance with agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations and in line with accepted best practices.
Specific Responsibilities Laundry Processing: Wash, dry, and fold residents’ clothing, bedding, and towels in accordance with care home procedures. Clothing Identification: Ensure residents’ clothing and personal items are correctly labelled and returned to the appropriate rooms. Infection Control: Follow infection prevention and control procedures when handling soiled or contaminated laundry. Laundry Equipment Operation: Safely operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment, reporting any faults or maintenance issues. Sorting and Handling Laundry: Sort laundry according to fabric type, colour, and washing requirements to prevent damage or contamination. Linen Management: Maintain an adequate supply of clean bedding, towels, and linens for residents and staff use. Laundry Room Cleanliness: Keep the laundry area clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety standards. Stock Monitoring: Monitor laundry supplies such as detergents and report when additional supplies are needed. Waste Disposal: Safely dispose of damaged or unusable linen in line with care home policies
