Laundry Assistant
Laundry Service Manager – Full Time (40 hours per week)
Hours & Compensation
- Full-time role: 40 hours per week
- Hourly rate: £13.45 per hour
- Annual salary: £27,976.00
About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver a full and timely commercial and personal laundry service across all St Monica Trust sites. Key responsibilities include:
- Laundry Operations
- Oversee the entire laundry service, including commercial and personal laundry tasks.
- Manage laundry stores, equipment, and inventory.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant working environment.
- Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and report any hazardous situations.
- Flexible Cover
- Operate independently on Saturdays and during periods when the Manager or Senior team are unavailable.
- Team Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with colleagues across different departments.
- Demonstrate care and attention to every item handled, including delicate or sensitive laundry.
- May support laundry transport between sites as required (agreed with line manager).

Logistical Support
- Transport laundry between sites when needed (co-ordinated with management).

- Follow all Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion policies.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, manual handling, and infection control standards.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Communication Skills
- Proficient in literacy, numeracy, and verbal communication.
- Ability to adapt communication style for others (e.g., differing abilities).
- Strong customer service skills across varied contexts.
- Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking
- Analytical and proactive in troubleshooting laundry issues.
- Organisational skills—planning and prioritising tasks efficiently.
- Ability to pre-empt challenges and escalate decisions when needed.

- Experience in commercial laundry operations.
- Experience with laundry machinery and technical equipment.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety, manual handling, and infection control.
