Job Description
Job Title: Laundry Valet (Casual 0-hour contract) Department: Housekeeping Supported By: Laundry Supervisor Salary: £18.27 per hour (including service charge)
Shift Details
Hours: 06:30–15:00 and 15:00–23:30 Note: Flexibility required Monday–Sunday for early/late shifts.
Your Purpose
Serve as a key player in our operation, upholding exceptional standards in:
- Guest and colleague laundry services
- Dry cleaning and pressing
- Linen room operations
Accountabilities
You will be responsible for:
- Linen preparation to ensure team efficiency daily
- Handling guest belongings securely and discreetly
- Stock preparation/delivery fostering a team-first mindset
- Maintaining a clean, orderly work environment

Key Responsibilities
- Laundry & dry cleaning:
- Collect, process, and deliver guest laundry, dry cleaning, and pressed items
- Assist with guest room moves/packing/unpacking
- Billing & record-keeping:
- Accurate recording and charging of all items
- Repairs & maintenance:
- Sewing and garment mending
- Equipment operation:
- Correct use of laundry machinery (washing machines, dryers, irons)
- Linen control:
- Monitor stock and inventory
- Distribute staff uniforms (report damages/losses promptly)
- Customer communications:
- Align guest interactions with service standards
- Safety & standards:
- Keep linen room and equipment immaculate
- Additional duties:
- Fulfill tasks directed by Housekeeping leadership
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Skills:
✔ Time management & prioritisation skills ✔ Warm, enthusiastic, and relational personality ✔ Ability to thrive under pressure ✔ Reduced mobility tolerance:
- Kneeling, lifting (up to 20kg), carrying, pulling, standing/walking for extended periods ✔ Adaptability and problem-solving ✔ Attention to detail ✔ High responsibility and independence (able to work with/receive supervision) ✔ Professional growth mindset:
- Keen to expand beyond laundry into luggage services, advanced laundry operations, and maintenance equipment
