Lawn Care Operatives – Permanent Role (Kendal)

Duration: Permanent Salary: £26,645.00 per year + £2,000 Other Than Employer (OTE) Holidays: Up to 22 days + Bank Holidays, increasing annually

Our Kendal-based team needs enthusiastic Lawn Care Operatives to join us. You’ll be training for a rewarding career in lawn care, offering excellent customer service, and transforming gardens with professional expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

Daily customer service & treatments:

  • Maintain pre-visit communication (calling ahead) to co-ordinate visits.
  • Visit designated customers daily, applying fertiliser & herbicide products as scheduled.
  • Notify customers at start and completion of treatments, providing invoices with details.
  • Advise clients on future treatments, identifying lawn issues and recommending solutions.
  • Offer expert guidance on lawn care, mowing best practice, and additional treatments.

Professional equipment & machinery:

  • Operate aerators, scarifiers and lawn top-dressers during Spring/Autumn machine work (reduce moss, thatch & soil compaction).
  • Clear waste safely using rakes, leaf sweepers and brooms.
  • Conduct lawn analysis and provide quotations as required.

Physical & administrative duties:

  • Work independently or as part of a team on physically demanding tasks—excellent fitness is essential.
  • Follow strict health & safety practices, maintain a spotless company vehicle (servicing included).
  • Ensure professional appearance at all times.
  • Handle simple service calls and stock reporting.

Business support:

  • Engage with potential customers to aid growth.
  • Provide point-of-sale material as requested.
  • Maintain and update stock records.
