Location: Boston, Lincolnshire

Employment Type: Full-time

Salary: £42,000 (DOE)

As a Lead Accountant, you will play a key leadership role in shaping our client delivery, developing our team, and driving operational excellence. This is a hands-on, strategic position suited to a qualified accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a meaningful impact in a growing firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
  • Oversee delivery of accounts, tax, VAT, payroll and compliance services
  • Review financial statements, management accounts and tax computations
  • Provide proactive advisory and growth support to clients
  • Drive business development, including client acquisition, proposal development and service expansion
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Develop internal processes and operational efficiency
  • Mentor junior staff as the team grows
  • Take ownership of day-to-day operational decisions while partnering directly with the Director on strategic growth initiatives

About You

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Bring a significant post-qualification experience within practice
  • Have a proven track record of operating at a senior level with autonomy
  • Be capable of leading both technical delivery and commercial development
  • Demonstrate strong business development capability, including client acquisition, relationship management and service expansion
  • Confident shaping processes, improving operations and supporting strategic decision-making
  • Possess excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills
  • Experience in a Big-4, top-10 or large regional practice is highly desirable
