Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time Location: Bradford or London

Working Pattern: Hybrid (typically 1 day a week in the office) We welcome part-time and flexible arrangements—we’ll match your existing flexibility where possible.

💼 The Role

You’ll report to the Senior Manager, Treasury, playing a pivotal role in supporting Financial Control within the Treasury team.

Focus:

  • Technical accounting expertise
  • Financial analysis and reporting
  • Compliance with hedge accounting, SPV reporting and securitisation accounting

Core Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate, well-documented, and compliant accounting treatments under applicable standards.
  • Support treasury projects, improve reporting processes, and enhance financial controls.
  • Collaborate with business and treasury stakeholders for high-quality financial reporting.

🔍 Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical accounting on critical areas:
    • Hedge accounting (regulation, documentation, testing)
    • SPV reporting
    • Securitisation accounting
  • Prepare and review:
    • Group hedging documentation
    • Securitisation accounting records
    • Statutory entity ledgers
    • Monthly interest expense reporting
  • Support complex transaction accuracy and forecasting:
    • Align actuals and forecasts for treasury teams
    • ensures proper documentation under UK GAAP/IFRS
  • Drive technical and analytical support for:
    • New business initiatives
    • System implementation
    • Process optimisation
  • Champion reporting improvement and control framework maintenance:
    • Escalate outstanding issues promptly
  • Collaborate with Senior Technical Reporting Manager on other technical accounting matters.

This role enforces technical precision, financial controls, and agile reporting in alignment with evolving business needs.


🔍 Qualifications & Experience

Perform well with nearly be required:

  • Qualified accountant (preferably ACA), with industry or practice post-qualification experience.

  • IFRS expertise (especially IFRS 9 & IAS 39) with an ability to explain complex issues simply.

  • Ability to influence and challenge constructively at manager level and above.

  • Strong communication skills (clear, tailored delivery): perfect for cross-level stakeholder interactions.

  • Attention to detail and organisational rigor: consistently meet deadlines across business-as-usual and change projects.

  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint): especially experienced within financial services.

  • Not required but highly beneficial:

    • Experience with hedge account documentation, including prospective and retrospective testing.
