Contract Type: Permanent | Full-Time
Location: Bradford or London
Working Pattern: Hybrid (usually 1 day a week in office) (Part-time or flexible arrangements welcomed with regards to your current setup)

The Role
As Lead Accountant within the Treasury Department, you’ll report to the Senior Manager, contributing meaningfully to Financial Control through technical, analytical, and reporting expertise. Key focus areas include:
- Hedge accounting
- Special Purposes Vehicle (SPV) reporting
- Securitisation transactions
- Ensuring accounting accuracy, documentation quality and compliance with global financial standards

Your Team & Expectations
You’ll join a collaborative Treasury team—closely aligned with Finance and business stakeholders—specialising in high-quality financial reporting and technical support.

Key Accountabilities
- Steer technical accounting across:
- Hedge accounting (including prospective/retrospective testing)
- SPV and securitisation reporting standards
- Guardian entity ledger administer
- Owner of hedge accounting documentation, SPV records, and monthly interest expense reporting
- Bridge activity between Finance/Treasury teams, ensuring complex transactions match internal controls and forecasting
- Drive positive change in reporting processes, control frameworks and peer mentorship
- Collaborate with Senior Technical Reporting Manager on discretionary yet high-impact projects
What We’re Looking For
Professional Requirements
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA), backed by post-qualification experience in industry or consultancy
- Advanced IFRS competency, especially IFRS 9 and IAS 39, with the ability to simplify complex issues
- Treasury/financial services sector vetted Expertise preferred (example: hedge fund, private client, wealth and asset management experience)
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strategic influence: Skill to challenge constructively at senior levels
- Client & stakeholder management: Tailor messaging across varied audiences (e.g., colleagues, auditors, tiers of management)
- Fluency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word: Notably for financial modelling/forecasting in regulated sectors
- Attention to detail: Critical reasoning for deadlines and controls amid dynamic work patterns
