What You'll Be Doing
As our Lead Activities Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of engaging activities that promote physical, emotional, social and mental wellbeing for our residents.
You'll lead and support the Activities Team, ensuring every resident has opportunities to participate in activities that reflect their interests, hobbies, culture and life experiences.
Working closely with the Home Manager and wider care team, you'll create a vibrant atmosphere throughout the home while building strong relationships with families, volunteers and the local community.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading and supporting the Activities Team to deliver exceptional resident experiences.
- Planning and delivering creative daily, weekly and seasonal activity programmes.
- Organising entertainment, themed events, celebrations and community visits.
- Supporting residents with one-to-one and group activities tailored to individual needs.
- Developing meaningful activities for residents living with dementia.
- Maintaining accurate activity care plans and participation records.
- Building relationships with local schools, charities, community groups and volunteers.
- Managing activity resources and budgets effectively.
- Promoting resident independence, dignity and wellbeing at all times.
- Supporting the Home Manager in driving continuous improvement across the activities provision.

About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about improving the lives of older people.
- An experienced Activities Coordinator or senior activities professional within a care setting.
- Creative, energetic and full of ideas.
- A confident leader who can motivate and develop others.
- Compassionate, organised and approachable.
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends for special events.
- Committed to delivering person-centred care and meaningful engagement.
A Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, and previous experience working within residential, nursing or dementia care would be advantageous.

- Pay rate: £14 per hour
- Full time permanent contract
- 37.5 hours per week
- Weekend cover when required
- 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays (pro rata for part-time employees)
