As a Lead Administrator in our Defence team, you’ll deliver vital support to language and cultural assessment operations, ensuring the right personnel are efficiently registered and ready. You’ll oversee workloads, mentor colleagues, and streamline administrative processes—all while driving service excellence and operational readiness.

What You’ll Do
Here’s how you’ll drive impact:
- Request Management
- Coordinate and prioritise incoming workloads to ensure accurate, timely execution.
- Application & Record Management
- Process defence-related applications, verify eligibility, and maintain compliant records.
- Customer & Stakeholder Coordination
- Be the trusted point of contact—responding to queries via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
- System & Data Administration
- Manage databases, registers, and SharePoint, ensuring accuracy and cyber-secure data handling.
- Team Support
- Mentor administrators or apprentices, cultivating growth through skills development and targeted coaching.
- Operational Coordination
- Organise meetings, manage team diaries, and deliver general support across the entire team.
You’ll merge administration expertise with customer-focused leadership—leading processes that underpin defence missions, strong character, and positive team dynamics.
What You’ll Bring
We’re seeking proactive professionals who embody excellence in these areas: ✔ Administrative Experience & Values Strong proven background in administration, supported by exemplary organisational and problem-solving skills. ✔ Communication & Stakeholder Management Unflustered when engaging with Policy, Defence personnel, or external customers—whether via phone, email, or face-to-face. ✔ IT Proficiency Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)—especially data-handling logistics and general IT troubleshooting capabilities. ✔ Flexible, Independent, and Team-Oriented Approach Thrives managing multiple urgent deadlines, juggling competing priorities while prioritising accuracy and confidentiality. Willing to take ownership in team settings. ✔ Proactive Problem-Solving Mindset Ahead of curve with innovation, adaptable to evolving processes and shifting demands.

What Needs Apply
Security Clearance & Compliance
To meet this role’s requirements, you will undergo the following security checks:
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) – routine checks including identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal background.
- Operational Security Clearance (e.g., Basic Level Clearance) – potentially requiring.Security Clearance—considered on a case-by-case, UK-based residency dependent basis. May include additional checks on employment history, criminal records, and financial conduct.
Completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire will ensure we can provide reasonable adjustments and optimise your performance in this role.
