I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll stay hands-on, building AI systems while mentoring engineers, influencing technical direction and shaping architecture, without the line management. Engineering Managers handle the people side so you can focus on solving problems and writing great software.

Why join?
The biggest reason engineers join isn't the salary.
It's because engineers don't stagnate here. Almost everyone I've spoken to has said it's the role where they've learnt the most and become the best engineer they've been.
The engineering team is exceptional, the product is complex and you'll be surrounded by people who'll push you to become a better engineer.

The engineering culture deserves a mention too. It's one of the best I've seen. People are trusted to get their work done, not micromanaged. There's flexibility and they understand life doesn't stop outside of work.
If you're looking for a role that keeps you close to the code while giving you the opportunity to shape both the product and the engineers around you, I'd love to tell you more.
Apply with your CV or LinkedIn profile. We can sort everything else afterwards.
