About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead AI Engineer to join our dynamic team within the Workday Products division at Kainos. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a bridge between data science and software engineering, focusing on productionizing AI and machine learning solutions. Your expertise will help integrate advanced AI models into our existing systems, ensuring they operate seamlessly, efficiently, and reliably. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software developers, and product teams to develop, deploy, and maintain scalable AI-driven features that enhance the functionality and user experience of our Workday offerings. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient professional to lead innovative projects, influence AI strategy, and contribute to the future of enterprise AI solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with extensive experience in software development and AI deployment. Key qualifications include proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code suitable for production environments. Proven experience in deploying AI and machine learning models at scale, including familiarity with MLOps practices like CI/CD pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring, is essential. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, along with cloud-native AI tools like SageMaker, Vertex AI, or Azure ML Studio, is highly desirable. Additionally, expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes is necessary. Candidates should have a solid understanding of data engineering, including building data pipelines and integrating AI solutions with enterprise data systems. Familiarity with agile development methodologies and excellent communication skills are also required.

Responsibilities
As a Lead AI Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing scalable AI solutions that align with business goals and technical standards.
- Working closely with data scientists to understand model requirements and translate them into production-ready solutions.
- Deploying AI models into cloud environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Overseeing the development and maintenance of data pipelines, ensuring data quality and integrity for AI applications.
- Collaborating with software engineering teams to integrate AI functionalities into existing systems and develop APIs to facilitate seamless access.
- Monitoring AI models post-deployment to ensure optimal performance and implementing updates or improvements as needed.
- Mentoring junior team members, promoting best practices in AI engineering, and contributing to the continuous improvement of AI workflows and tools.
- Participation in agile ceremonies, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
