The Role

A full-time, on-site AI Practitioner position based in Manchester, United Kingdom.

As an AI Practitioner, you will work closely with clients to:

  • Identify high-value AI use cases that drive business impact.
  • Design, build, and deploy data- and model-driven AI solutions.
  • Support end-to-end project delivery, from initial concept through to deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including consulting, technology, and business stakeholders).
  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Prepare client-facing presentations, reports, and documentation.
  • Contribute to thought leadership by sharing best practices and trends in AI.

Additionally, the role involves ensuring AI solutions are responsible, compliant, ethical, and aligned with client objectives, with a focus on governance, risk, and regulatory considerations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct AI discovery workshops and assess client data readiness.
  • Prototype and test AI models to validate solutions before full deployment.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagements to gather requirements and align expectations.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to integrate AI into business and IT architectures.
  • Create and deliver high-quality client presentations explaining technical solutions.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives, positioning Sopra Steria Next as an AI innovation leader.
  • Advise on responsible AI principles, including ethics, governance, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure transparency and fairness in AI implementation.

Requirements

Professional Experience

  • Strong applied AI and data science experience, including machine learning (ML), deep learning, and data analytics.
  • Familiarity with modern AI frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, C编导) and data processing platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience in a consulting or client-facing role, with a track record of stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and solution design.
  • Prior exposure to digital transformation projects in either public or private sectors.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Enhanced written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and storytelling.
  • Understanding of responsible AI principles, including:
    • Ethics in AI development
    • Governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, AI ethics guidelines)
    • Data privacy, fairness, and explainability
    • Regulatory considerations in AI deployment

Education & Background

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • If combined with relevant experience, alternatively, a proven track record in roles directly leveraging AI/ML expertise may be considered.

  • Collaborative mindset – Ability to thrive in multidisciplinary teams and align with diverse client needs.
  • Adaptability – Comfortable navigating rapidly evolving AI trends and uncertainties.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritise in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Language Skills

  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Preferred: Additional European languages (a strong asset for client engagements).

Location & Working Arrangement

  • Location: Manchester, United Kingdom.
  • Working Arrangement: On-site (hybrid considerations may be discussed on a case-by-case basis, pending client requirements).
