Senior SAP Solution Architect – Digital Transformation (ERP)
About the Role
BCG Platinion partners with leaders to tackle complex digital transformation challenges. We drive large-scale ERP transformations, particularly focusing on SAP S/4HANA enablement. As a Senior SAP Solution Architect, you’ll lead the technical strategy and design for clients aiming to modernise fragmented, inefficient legacy systems through end-to-end transformation. You’ll partner with senior executives, functional leads, and engineering teams to deliver solutions that combine SAP core implementation with satellite functional ecosystems, adapters, and data solutions.
Responsibilities

SAP Roadmaps & Strategy: Define and own technical and solution strategy, including S/4HANA adoption and phased rollouts that align with business objectives.

Solution Architecture Design: Own the design of SAP target landscapes, ensuring lean ERP core principles while integrating satellite SAP solutions (e.g., SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics, Cloud Integration, Ariba).

Multi-business Line Coverage: Drive architectural decisions across complex Lines of Business, including Manufacturing, Sales, Supply Chain, Asset Management, Multi-Company Consolidation, and Finance.

Integration Architecture: Specify SAP integration strategies using SAP Integration Suite, BTP (Business Technology Platform), middleware, and process & data standards for seamless connection between core SAP and/or third-party SaaS apps. Advise on hybrid on-premise/Cloud integration architectures.

Data Strategy & Analytics: Define SAP data architecture, including:
- Master data governance (MDG).
- BW/4HANA, DataSphere persisted layer, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) reporting. Design and influence SAP-specific transformation roadmaps that enable business providers to achieve their ERP ambitions.

Solution Governance & Quality: Ensure designs follow SAP best practices, efficiency targets, and industry benchmarks, embedding performance, security, and maintainability principles.

Client-Facing Advisory: Partner with programme leadership, functional teams, and senior executives to translate business outcomes into technical SAP roadmaps, aligning SAP direction with global templates and frameworks.
Requirements
Qualifications & Technical Strengths
- 10+ years in SAP solution architecture and delivery experience.
- Consulting background essential (previous or current).
- Proven ability to design solutions across multi-module SAP deployed landscapes (e.g., straddling LoBs such as Production, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance).
- Deep S/4HANA expertise, including adoption strategies, phasing modalities, cDraw hybrid scenarios, and migration correlations.
- Hands-on experience in data migration and modern data solutions, e.g., MDG, BW/4HANA, SAP Data Service, SAP DataSphere, fast datacubes.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA architecture (including virtual data/persisted layer) and design of application to data layers.
- Expertise in SAP BTP (integration, business AI capabilities) and innovative middleware technologies.
- SAP certifications in architecture, module, or Waltriple areas.
- Ability to identify AI-driven value (e.g., predictive analytics, intelligent automation, process mining, GenAI) across ERP landscapes and incorporate into business cases and roadmaps.

- Proven track record of leading multi-module, mass parallel ERP transformations.
- Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder management across cross-functional and global client teams.
- Desire to travel frequently to client sites worldwide.
Strategic Mindset
- Research-driven mind, identifying opportunities to push the boundaries of ERP capability.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (engineering, computer science, logistics) or business management (MBA/Master degree advantageous).
